About the Adapter (Manufacturing Details)

The adapter is produced using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)—also known as Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)—a professional additive manufacturing process where thermoplastic polymers are deposited layer-by-layer to create strong, functional parts.

Key characteristics:

  • Constructed from high-quality thermoplastic filament

  • Layer-by-layer build results in a naturally textured, slightly wavy surface

  • Small features (threads, small holes) may require minor post-processing

  • Can be professionally finished through sanding, polishing, priming, painting, vapor smoothing, epoxy coating, or metal plating

This process ensures a durable, lightweight part capable of handling daily use under normal engine bay temperatures.

Why Replace Your Factory Air Box?

  • Increased horsepower

  • Quicker throttle response and improved acceleration

  • Better fuel efficiency

  • Deeper, more aggressive intake sound

  • Enhanced engine-bay appearance

  • Reduced filter costs—cleanable and reusable

Installation Notes

  • Simple installation; primarily requires removal of the stock airbox

  • Tools needed: screwdrivers and socket wrenches

  • Typical install time: under 1 hour

  • YouTube offers multiple airbox-removal tutorials for these models

  • After installation, disconnect and reconnect the battery for a few seconds to allow the ECU to recalibrate airflow

  • Always disconnect the battery before performing engine work
