What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 Tuning? GTE Stage 1 Tuning is designed for the stock engine with very little modification. It requires the use of 89 or higher octane gasoline for best results. The Stage 1 tuning will work in conjunction with other modifications to increase performance (intake upgrades and exhaust upgrades) GTE Stage 2 Tuning is designed for the performance enthusiast. Premium unleaded gas is required in order to extract the maximum benefit from the new tuning. Other modifications including less restrictive exhaust, modified air intake, and 180 degree thermostat are recommended when using the Stage 2 to enjoy the full benefits of this more aggressive tuning. Although a new thermostat is recommended its not needed, unless you live in a warm climate area.

How it works?
All modern vehicles have an oxygen sensor which measures concentration of oxygen remaining the exhaust gases. This measurement is sent the ECU to control the efficiency of the combustion process in the engine. There are typically one or two oxygen sensors on vehicles exhaust manifolds which will communicate with the computer. By altering these signals, our technicians have optimized a circuit that vies the engine the best possible engine performance, fuel economy and exhaust emissions. Further optimization is done with the stage 1 chip on a sensor located under your hood. The stage 2 kit removes barriers applied by the ECU and tricks the O2 signal to delivered up to 10% extra horsepower plus low end torque within the full RPM range.
This Stage 2 O2 Chip modifies voltage signals of oxygen sensor, indicating lean fuel signal. As a result the ECU lets more fuel to the injectors while the mass of free air remains the same. Thus, we can affect the air fuel mixture and gain more power, improving the efficiency of combustion and saving fuel all at the same time.
How can fuel consumption be unaltered?
With the stage 2 O2 sensor chip we allow the ECU to modify the air fuel ration within the full RPM range delivering poor fuel signal to it, however the ECU would sense and receive signals from the IAT, ECT and MAP sensors which in tune allows the engine to remap to enhance performance while improving throttle position. With the slight expensive of emission the engine will add more power.
Is this a resistor?
To avoid misconception, stage 2 oxygen chip nor stage 1 chip are resistors. We modify voltage not resistance. O2 sensors signals cannot be tricked by cheap resistors.
